KPJ Healthcare Achieves 206th Robotic-Assisted Knee Surgery

KPJ Healthcare Berhad has achieved a significant milestone in orthopaedic surgery with its specialist hospital, KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital (KPJ Kuching), completing its 206th knee surgery utilising robotic-assisted technology (TKA). The event, graced by Deputy Premier Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, highlighted the transformative impact of robotic-assisted technology on TKA surgeries, resulting in quicker recovery times and improved patient outcomes.

Since its implementation in August 2023, KPJ Kuching has witnessed a notable 28.7% increase in successful TKA operations compared to the previous year, totaling 360 procedures.

This surge underscores the effectiveness of robotic-assisted technology in enhancing surgical precision and improving the recovery experience for patients, ultimately leading to increased confidence and satisfaction.

KPJ Healthcare’s strategic partnership with Zimmer Biomet, a global medical device and technology leader, has been instrumental in the adoption of robotic-assisted technology at KPJ Kuching. This collaboration has enabled the hospital to elevate standards for surgical excellence in TKA while amplifying surgical precision.
