Bursa Lower At Midday On Profit-Taking Activities

Bursa Malaysia settled the morning trading session lower on Wednesday due to profit-taking activities, primarily in the plantation and utilities sectors, and in line with the mostly lower regional market performance.

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) gave up five points to 1,533.42 from Tuesday’s close of 1,538.42.

The benchmark index, which opened 1.91 points lower at 1,536.51, moved between 1,528.52 and 1,536.58 throughout the session.

The market breadth was negative with decliners outpacing advancers 546 to 350 while 448 counters were unchanged, 994 untraded and 74 others suspended.

Turnover amounted to 2.12 billion units worth RM1.49 billion.
