The FBM KLCI made a recovery as it approached the lunch break, driven by notable gains in energy and banking sectors. As of 12:30 p.m., the 30-stock index was up by 1.27 points, or 0.08%, reaching 1,599.47.
Earlier, the index had dipped to an intra-morning low of 1,595.62.
The broader market showed positive momentum with 569 gainers outweighing 422 decliners.
Overall trading volume increased to 3.2 billion shares, with a total value of RM1.9 billion.
