Vehicle Ownership Cert Printing Fee Reduced By 60% To RM20

Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced today that the fee for printing the Vehicle Ownership Certificate (VOC) in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Labuan has been significantly reduced to RM20, effective immediately.

Previously, vehicle owners in Peninsular Malaysia paid RM50 for the VOC, while in Sabah and Labuan, the fee was RM25. Meanwhile, the fee for printing the VOC in Sarawak remains unchanged at RM5.

Loke stated that this adjustment is aimed at harmonizing the fee structure across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Labuan. He highlighted this during a press conference earlier today.

In addition to the fee reduction, Loke announced another significant change regarding periodic inspections of school vehicles. Effective today, the frequency of inspections for vehicles under 10 years old has been extended from every six months to annually from the registration date. Furthermore, new driving school vehicles that are under three years old will be exempt from periodic inspections altogether. However, vehicles over 10 years old will continue to require inspections every six months.

Loke emphasized that these adjustments are designed to encourage driving schools to maintain newer vehicles for their students, especially those used for training within designated circuits or test routes.

The minister concluded by affirming that these policy changes are part of ongoing efforts to streamline processes and improve service delivery within the transport sector.
