Perdana Petroleum’s Datuk Hasmi Steps Down To Focus On Dayang

Perdana Petroleum Berhad has announced the resignation of Datuk Hasmi bin Hasnan from its Board of Directors, effective 1st July 2024.

The group said his decision to step down is driven by his need to, inter alia, focus on his role as the Executive Chairman within the Board of Dayang Enterprise Holdings Berhad, where he will be concentrating on the Dayang’s core strategic initiatives during this period of increased activities in the oil and gas industry.

During his tenure on Perdana Petroleum’s board, Datuk Hasmi has played a significant role in guiding the company through various strategic initiatives, contributing to its growth and success. His leadership and expertise have been invaluable assets to the Company.

On 10th June 2024, Dayang announced the resignation of Mr Jamalludin Obeng as the NonIndependent Non-Executive Director. En Jamalludin, who has led Perdana Petroleum since 1st October 2021, successfully managed a turnaround after seven years of losses. In 2022, the Company achieved a revenue of RM196.6 million and a net profit of RM11.4 million. The revenue for 2023 increased to RM313.9 miilion, with net profit increasing fourfold to RM44.5 million.
