Bursa Malaysia Rebounds In Morning Trade, Closes Higher At Midday

Bursa Malaysia rebounded in morning trade to close higher at midday, bolstered by gains in plantation and healthcare counters.

At 12:30 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose by 0.19 per cent or 2.96 points to 1,587.90, compared to Thursday’s close of 1,584.94.

The key index opened in the red at 1,583.53 and fluctuated between 1,581.52 and 1,588.57 during the morning session.

The market sentiment was positive, with gainers outpacing decliners 521 to 390, while 471 counters remained unchanged.

On the index board, the FBM100 increased by 0.28 per cent to 11,780.38, the FBM Emas climbed 0.29 per cent to 12,196.52, and the FBM Ace rose by 0.41 per cent to 5,712.24.

Among the top gainers were Malaysian Pacific Industries, which added 48 sen to RM39.36, and CelcomDigi Bhd, which gained 20 sen to RM3.67.

On the losing end, Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd fell by 20 sen to RM121.30, and Petronas Gas Bhd declined by 18 sen to RM17.80.
