Tourism Malaysia Launches RM70 Durian Tour Packages

Tourism Malaysia today (June 27) launched 62 Durian Tourism Agrotourism Packages 2024/2025 to enliven and promote the durian season in Malaysia. This initiative is in collaboration with 27 local tour operators.

The packages offered start as low as RM70 per person for durian eating activities in Relau, Kedah, up to RM4,450 for a 3 Days 2 Nights (3D2N) itinerary in Bentong Bilut Hills, Pahang. Various other activities include visits to durian orchards, durian picking and tasting experiences, local fruit tasting, cooking classes, making tempoyak, rafting, village stays, as well as train rides and golf.

Saidi Bundan, Deputy Director General (Planning) of Tourism Malaysia, stated that the packages this time cover the states of Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Melaka, Johor, Pahang, Kelantan, and Sabah, starting from June 2024 and valid until December 2025.

“In addition to Brunei, Tourism Malaysia is also targeting foreign markets such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore through the publication of Durian Tourism package promotional materials in Mandarin.

“The launch of this package is not only expected to introduce more destinations that can impact local economic activities but also to establish agrotourism programs led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security as one of the niche tourism product segments. This effort also reinforces the government’s commitment to sustainable tourism development in line with the National Tourism Policy (DPN) 2020-2030,” he said.
