SIBS 2024 Launches As Premier Regional Marketplace

Invest Selangor Berhad inaugurated the eagerly awaited Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2024 today at the Sheraton Hotel, Petaling Jaya.

This event, organised by Invest Selangor Berhad and backed by the Selangor State Government, promises to be a pivotal gathering for exhibitors, investors, and industry leaders from across Southeast Asia.

Scheduled to commence at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre next month, SIBS 2024 has evolved into one of the region’s largest platforms for networking and market engagement. The summit will unfold in two dynamic series, offering unparalleled opportunities for industry insights and international networking.

In its first series, from 25-27 July 2024, SIBS will host the Selangor ASEAN Business Conference (SABC), a crucial regional forum addressing investment challenges and opportunities within Southeast Asia. Speakers include Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Selangor MB and senior representatives of business chambers from ASEAN member countries. Concurrently, the Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo (SPARK) will showcase leading players in the industrial park ecosystem across ASEAN and various state governments.

Moving to its second series from 16-19 October 2024, SIBS will delve into specific sectors with three main events: the Selangor International Expo (Food & Beverages), featuring local and international exhibitors and discussions on Food Security; the Selangor International Halal Convention (SELHAC) focusing on halal certification, logistics, and digital innovation in the halal industry; and the Selangor Life Sciences Convention (SLC), a comprehensive conference covering medical devices, sustainable futures, and more.

Additionally, the Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC) will highlight AI innovations in mobility, healthcare, and education, alongside Malaysia’s Semiconductor Accelerator and IC Design Park.

Ng Sze Han, Selangor Exco for Investment, Trade, and Mobility, encouraged deep engagement in SIBS 2024, emphasising its pivotal role in fostering growth within Malaysia and across ASEAN. Anticipating participation from over 60,000 visitors across 80 countries, SIBS 2024 aims to facilitate transactions worth RM7 billion.

Furthermore, Amirudin underscored the scale and significance of SIBS 2024, featuring five major expos and conferences across two series, making it the largest edition to date.
