Astro Still Facing Tough Landscape, Q1 Revenue Drops To RM773 Million

Astro announced its first quarter result for FY25 reporting a revenue of RM772 million which was lower compare to RM856 million it recorded in the previous year’s quarter for the same period. Proit after tax however improved with RM17 million versus RM15.9 million it registered in Q1FY25.

The broadcaster said it has been navigating a challenging landscape in Q1FY25, especially in relation to advertising spend. In this quarter, the company generated free cash flows of RM112mn and remains proactive in its capital management.

Euan Smith, Group CEO of Astro remarked: “In FY25, our renewed focus spans three pillars: Grow New Customers by strengthening content offerings to engage our wider audience; Strengthen Adjacent Businesses by expanding sooka, Astro Fibre, Astro Enterprise, and Addressable Advertising, and Reduce Legacy Cost to ensure our products remain competitively priced against global players.
