AirAsia has once again made history by securing the prestigious title of World’s Best Low-Cost Airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2024. This remarkable achievement marks AirAsia’s 15th consecutive win, underscoring its steadfast commitment to innovation and value in the low-cost carrier segment.

Founded in 2001, AirAsia has grown from humble beginnings to become a leading player in the Asian aviation market, operating a fleet of over 200 aircraft and employing more than 21,000 staff across multiple countries including Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia. The airline’s mission to redefine air travel in Southeast Asia through affordability, inclusivity, and accessibility has resonated strongly with travelers, propelling it to the forefront of regional connectivity and tourism revitalization efforts.

Accepting the award in London, AirAsia’s CEO Tony Fernandes expressed his gratitude, saying, “Skytrax sets global standards for airline quality and excellence, and we are thrilled to have consistently met and surpassed these benchmarks for the 15th year running. This accolade is a testament to the dedication of our 21,000 Allstars and the unwavering support of our 800 million guests worldwide.”

Fernandes dedicated the award to AirAsia’s employees and loyal passengers, emphasising their role in the airline’s success story. He highlighted AirAsia’s resilience in overcoming challenges, particularly during the aviation industry’s recent downturn, and expressed optimism about the airline’s future growth prospects.

The Skytrax World Airline Awards, widely regarded as the aviation industry’s Oscars, are determined through a global survey involving millions of international travelers. AirAsia’s consistent recognition in these awards reflects its strong customer satisfaction and operational excellence, cementing its position as a leader in the low-cost airline sector.

Looking ahead, AirAsia plans to expand its network and enhance customer experience with new aircraft deliveries and innovative service offerings, aiming to further strengthen its market presence in Asia and beyond.
