Malaysia To Join World Expo 2025 At Osaka, Japan

The Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Sri Fadillah Yusof, officially launched Malaysia’s participation in the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan today (June 20).

The aim of the participation is to showcase Malaysia rich cultural heritage and innovative aspirations on a global stage. “Malaysia’s narrative is a story of a nation where people of different ethnicities, religions and backgrounds live together in harmony.

It is a story of unity in diversity, a testament to our ability to find strength in our differences. It is a story we’re proud to share with the world under the theme “Weaving a Future in Harmony”,” Fadillah said.

Additionally, Fadillah announced that the Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2025 will serve as a vibrant representation of the nation’s cultural heritage, integrating traditions with innovation.

The pavilion will highlight Malaysia’s commitment to a sustainable, inclusive, and technologically advanced future, celebrating the diverse heritage that defines the country.

He also noted that 2025 will be a landmark year for Malaysia, as it will not only participate in Expo 2025 but also assume the role of ASEAN Chair. “There are indeed core similarities between these two platforms as both call for collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision for a better future.

They underscore the power of unity, highlighting that our diverse perspectives and unique strengths are not obstacles but rather catalyst to learn, grow and create something truly extraordinary,” Fadillah said.

Fadillah urged the international community to embrace the spirit of collaboration and shared purpose, striving for a world where diversity is celebrated and serves as the cornerstone of a thriving global community. He highlighted the unveiling of the Malaysia Pavilion, an architectural marvel inspired by traditional Malaysian weaving processes, as a key moment in this journey.

He extended a special invitation to diplomatic counterparts to visit the Malaysian Pavilion at Expo 2025. He expressed hope that the pavilion would inspire visitors with Malaysia’s journey towards sustainability, innovation, and harmonious living.
