Ringgit Opens Higher Vs U.S. Dollar As Fed Leaves Rates Unchanged

The ringgit opened stronger against the US dollar today, buoyed by renewed buying interest after the US Federal Reserve (Fed) left interest rates unchanged overnight and indicated a potential rate cut later this year.

At 9.05am, the ringgit strengthened to 4.7030/7070 versus the greenback from yesterday’s close of 4.7160/7185.
