Shares on Bursa Malaysia concluded the morning session with a mixed performance amidst cautious market sentiment, reflecting regional reactions to the recent US Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision.
Despite the cautious outlook, the local bourse maintained steady support across various sectors, particularly in technology, construction, and property.
At 12:30 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) edged up by 2.25 points to 1,613.74 from Tuesday’s closing of 1,611.49. Opening higher at 1,616.63, the index traded within a range of 1,613.09 to 1,618.99 throughout the session.
Decliners surpassed gainers with 593 stocks down compared to 578 stocks up, while 468 counters remained unchanged. Additionally, 762 stocks were untraded, and nine were suspended.
Total turnover amounted to 4.7 billion units valued at RM2.86 billion.
