Yayasan TM (YTM) is continuing its mission to support community-based programs by offering a Social Impact Grant to eligible organisations.

This initiative aims to address the lack of resources and funding that hinder many local organizations from expanding their beneficial activities.

First introduced in 2022-2023, the grant is part of YTM’s transformation into a purpose-driven social impact foundation. This year, a total of RM1,500,000 is available for social impact projects lasting six to twelve months. Individual grants will range from RM100,000 to RM250,000, with projects slated for implementation from October 2024 until October 2025.

YTM, Director, Ainol Shaharina Sahar emphasised the importance of sustainable livelihood for national development. “YTM supports programs that improve quality of life, enhance digital literacy, provide inclusive education, and reduce inequalities, contributing to the global agenda of sustainable development, particularly SDG17 (Partnerships for the Goals),” she said.

Due to the success of last year’s projects, YTM decided to continue the grant, looking forward to working with grassroots organizations on impactful programs for Malaysians nationwide.

“This grant supports YTM’s pillars of Education, Community & Nation Building, and Art, Culture & Heritage. Selected initiatives will strengthen the economy through technology, propelling Malaysia towards a more connected future and aligning with TM’s aspiration of becoming a digital powerhouse by 2030,” Ainol added. “Through collaboration, we can scale up effectively and amplify the social impact for communities and beyond.”

Last year, eight organisations benefitted from the grant, impacting over 6,000 individuals. Projects ranged from educational development for Orang Asli and Bumiputera Sabah to socio-economic improvements among B40 and rural communities, as well as mental health advocacy.
