Bursa Malaysia Declines Amid Cautious Sentiment Ahead of Fed Meeting

Bursa Malaysia closed slightly lower on Wednesday, influenced by cautious sentiment ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s (Fed) upcoming decision on interest rates and inflation data expected later today.

At 5 PM, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) dropped 2.54 points to an intraday low of 1,608.95, down from Tuesday’s close of 1,611.49.

The FBM KLCI had initially opened 5.14 points higher at 1,616.63, reaching an intraday high of 1,618.99 during the early morning session.

On the broader market, decliners outnumbered gainers 758 to 550, with 468 counters unchanged, 625 untraded, and nine others suspended.
