Water Supply Disruption Expected In Selangor Due To Maintenance Works

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) has initiated maintenance and replacement works at the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant (SSP1 WTP) today at 9:00 am, in line with the scheduled plan announced on May 13, 2024.

The maintenance and replacement operations are anticipated to conclude by 7:00 pm on June 5, 2024 (Wednesday). Subsequently, water distribution to consumers will commence gradually, beginning at 3:00 am on June 6, 2024 (Thursday), following stabilization of the main water supply distribution system.

The recovery process for the water supply in affected areas is forecasted to reach about 20% by 3:00 pm on June 6, 2024 (Thursday) and rise to 90% by 3:00 am on June 7, 2024 (Friday). Full recovery is anticipated by 12:00 pm on June 7, 2024 (Friday).

The duration of the water supply disruption and recovery will vary depending on the location of consumers’ premises and the water pressure in the distribution system.

To mitigate the impact, Air Selangor will deploy water tankers to critical facilities such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers, and funeral service centers. Additionally, alternative water supply assistance will be accessible at 13 local service centers.

Commercial customers are advised to procure water supply at any of Air Selangor’s customer service counters across all regions. They can also utilise their own water tankers at designated local water filling stations located at Braemar Estate (Hulu Langat region), Taman Gemilang Dengkil and Pekan Salak (Sepang region), and Taman Banting Baru (Kuala Langat region).

Furthermore, Air Selangor conducted a briefing session with elected representatives of the affected areas on June 4, 2024, to ensure a smooth water supply process for consumers.
