MMAG Inks Potential Deal To Provide Cargo Solutions For Air Sri Lanka

MMAG informed that its aviation arm, has entered into a strategic collaboration and support services agreement with
Sri Lanka based Supreme Global Holdings to establish a potential collaboration in the aviation sector in Sri Lanka.

MMAG Group is a full-fledged supply chain service provider offering extensive services covering first, mid, and last-mile delivery solutions while the subsidiary MAC, its aviation arm operates from Kuala Lumpur International Airport delivering integrated cargo airline solutions, encompassing commercial cargo operations, ground handling, an oceanic transshipment hub, and on-demand cargo depot services.

Supreme Global is a Sri Lankan conglomerate with diversified interests spanning finance, infrastructure, logistics and aviation. Supreme Global is currently engaged in the acquisition of Sri Lankan Airlines, the national airline of Sri Lanka, along with its consortium partner.

MMAG said MAC has been identified by Supreme Global to be the best candidate in this field given its ability, expertise, knowledge and spectrum of capabilities and coverage to partner and guide, following the Group’s recent contracts secured from major carriers like MasKargo and Teleport by AirAsia, establishing the Group as a key feeder and cargo handling operator in the aviation industry.

In view of the details of the Agreement, MMAG views the it positively for uniting the strengths of the Parties in the aviation services and supporting Supreme Global in the acquisition process of Sri Lankan Airlines, leveraging MAC’s specialised expertise in the air cargo segment.

The Board said it believes that the Agreement has potential and would allow MMAG Group to enhance its global footprint in aviation and logistics industry through the collaboration with Supreme Global in Sri Lanka, strengthening both companies’ positions and contributing to the advancement of Sri Lanka’s air cargo landscape, should the acquisition plan materialise.
