FBM KLCI stays positive amid jittery regional sentiment

The FBM KLCI maintained a positive stance at midday, supported by gains in banking stocks after an initially sluggish start.

As of 12:30 pm, the benchmark index had risen by 4.44 points to 1,589.82, reflecting a generally upbeat market sentiment with 534 stocks advancing against 395 declining ones, while 475 stocks remained unchanged.

Throughout the morning session, the index traded within a range of eight points, fluctuating between 1,581.76 and 1,590.74.

Market turnover stood at 2.81 billion shares valued at RM1.53 billion, underscoring active trading activities.
