FBM KLCI Rises Amid Weaker Broader Market

The Malaysian benchmark stock index climbed during Tuesday morning’s trading session, buoyed by positive performances in other regional markets following Wall Street’s bullish showing overnight.

As of 12:30 pm, the FBM KLCI had risen by 4.39 points to reach 1,611.71. However, the broader market exhibited more decliners than gainers, with 639 stocks recording losses compared to 460 stocks in the green, while 472 stocks remained unchanged.

Market activity saw a turnover of 3.58 billion shares valued at RM2.07 billion. Notably, gains were led by six out of the 13 market sectors, particularly in plantations and healthcare, which showed the most improvement.
